BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR FESTIVAL 2010 SITEMAP

For those of you who have been before you will notice some minor changes but overall it’s not to different from last year’s layout.

The entrance to the arena has been changed very slightly to allow those wanting access to MIDGARD campsite to enter without having to go straight through the main arena.

VALHALLA campsite is for those with disability and very close to the disabled parking area as well as the entrance to the main arena.

The campsite showers and Luxury Loo’s are located in MIDGARD campsite and all campers  can use these facilities for a small charge.

HEL campsite is the quiet campsite and more ideal for families with children.  There is a strict no noise policy after midnight.  Anyone causing a disturbance will be asked to move to one of the main campsites immediately.

Both ASGARD and MIDGARD campsites this year have campsite information hubs, so any concerns you have please direct to the lads and lasses manning these and they will do their very best to assist you.

 

 
 
SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE

 

SHUTTLE BUSES WILL BE OPERATING FROM THURSDAY TO MONDAY TAKE YOU TO AND FROM THE LOCAL TRAIN STATIONS AT LICHFIELD CITY STATION AND BURTON ON TRENT STATION.  TICKETS WILL COST £7.00 RETURN OR £4.00 ONE WAY AND ARE ONLY AVAILABLE FROM THE BUS OPERATORS ON THE DAY.  TICKETS CANNOT BE PRE BOOKED.

THIS IS AN ALL AGE FESTIVAL ALTHOUGH ANYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 16 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A PARENT OR GUARDIAN OVER THE AGE OF 18. 
 
 
PROOF OF AGE
IF YOU LOOK UNDER 21 YEARS OF AGE YOU MAY BE ASKED TO PROVIDE PROOF OF AGE EITHER WHEN ENTERING THE FESTIVAL SITE OR AT THE FESTIVAL BARS.  ACCEPTED FORMS OF PROOF OF AGE ARE  PASSPORT, PHOTO CARD DRIVING LICENCE, PROOF OF AGE CARD (THE CARD MUST BE PART OF THE PASS SCHEME AND CARRY THE HOLOGRAM.  IF THE PROOF OF AGE CARD IS YOUR PREFERRED CHOICE YOU CAN APPLY FOR THE CARD HERE
 
 
ATM MACHINES 
SHOULD YOU RUN OUT OF MONEY THERE WILL BE ATM MACHINES ON SITE.  HOWEVER OUR ATM'S DO NOT ACCEPT FOREIGN BANK CARDS HOWEVER MANY OF THE TRADE STALLS WILL ACCEPT FOREIGN CARDS FOR PURCHASES BUT CANNOT GIVE CASH BACK ON THEM. WE HAVE ENGINEERS ON SITE TO MANAGE THE ATM MACHINES SO PLEASE DO ASK THEM FOR ASSISTANCE IF REQUIRED.  THERE WILL BE A CHARGE FOR EACH CASH WITHDRAWAL AND THIS WILL BE IDENTIFIED ON THE MACHINES.
 
 
SECURING YOUR PERSONAL ITEMS  - CLOAK ROOM SERVICE
LEAVING ANYTHING OF VALUE IN YOUR TENT IS ALWAYS A BIT OF A RISKY BUSINESS AS UNFORTUNATELY THEFTS DO OCCUR,  WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING OF VALUE WITH YOU THEN PURCHASE A CLOAK ROOM TICKET.  YOU CAN STORE BAGS COATS AND VALUABLES SAFELY WITH THE CLOAKROOM SERVICE.  THIS IS ALSO MANNED 24 HOURS A DAY AND YOU CAN EXCHANGE YOUR CLOAKROOM VOUCHER (PURCHASED FROM THE BLOODSTOCK STORE) FOR A SECURE WRISTBAND WHICH ENABLES YOU TO ACCESS YOUR VALUABLES ANY TIME OVER THE COURSE OF THE WEEKEND AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT LOOSING A CLOAKROOM TICKET ON SITE.  TO PURCHASE YOUR CLOAKROOM TICKET CLICK HERE  - BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY.
 
 
LOST AND FOUND
THE LOST AND FOUND POINT CAN BE FOUND AT THE ROCK SOCIETY TENT IN THE MAIN ARENA SITUATED NEXT TO THE BLOODSTOCK ARMS BAR. PLEASE HAND IN ANYTHING YOU FIND THAT DOES NOT BELONG TO YOU AND WE WILL ENDEAVOUR TO REUNITE THESE ITEMS WITH THE OWNER.  SHOULD YOU LOSE ANY VALUABLES AND THEY ARE NOT HANDED IN TO THE LOST AND FOUND POINT THERE IS STILL A CHANCE THEY MAY BE RECOVERED DURING THE FESTIVAL CLEAR UP OPERATION. WE WILL UPDATE THE WEBSITE SOON TO  LET YOU KNOW WHO TO CONTACT AFTER THE FESTIVAL TO CHECK IF YOUR LOST ITEMS HAVE BEEN RECOVERED.
 
 
FOOD AND DRINK
THERE WILL BE NUMEROUS FOOD STALLS SELLING EVERYTHING FROM CHINESE, MEXICAN BURGERS, JACKET POTATOES, STEAK BAPS TO, FULL ENGLISH BREAKFAST, SWEETS AND MUCH MORE.  FREE DRINKING WATER WILL BE AVAILABLE AT DESIGNATED WATER POINTS.  ALCOHOL AND FOOD WILL NOT BE PERMITTED INTO THE ARENA UNLESS PURCHASED FROM INSIDE THE ARENA.  QUALITY CHILLED BEER, SPIRITS AND SOFT DRINKS WILL BE READILY AVAILABLE FROM THE FESTIVAL PUB 'THE BLOODSTOCK ARMS' SITUATED IN THE MAIN ARENA.  DUE TO THE SUCCESS OF THE CAMPSITE SLAB WE INTRODUCED IN 2009 THIS FACILITY WILL BE AVAILABLE AGAIN THIS YEAR.  YOU CAN PURCHASE A CASE OF QUALITY CHEAP CHILLED BEERS FROM THE CAMPSITE CHEAPER THAN PURCHASING FROM THE ARENA.  SO FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO JUST CAN'T STAND THE TASTE OF WARM BEER THAT YOU'VE HAD TO BRING ALL THE WAY FROM HOME THIS IS A GREAT ALTERNATIVE. 
 
 
CAMPING
THERE WILL BE DESIGNATED BARBECUE AREAS IN THE CAMPSITES. WE WILL HAVE A TEAM OF PEOPLE DEDICATED TO KEEPING THESE AREAS CLEAN AND TIDY THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND.  THE BARBECUE AREA IS FOR THE USE OF DISPOSABLE BARBECUE'S ONLY,  HOWEVER YOU ARE FINE TO BRING CAMPING STOVES THAT USE HARD FUEL SUCH AS HEX AMINE BLOCKS.
 
IN ORDER TO GIVE EVERYONE ENOUGH ROOM TO CAMP; WE WILL NOT BE ALLOWING UNOCCUPIED GAZEBO'S OR LARGE OPEN SPACES AMONG TENTS AS SOCIAL SPACES.  PLEASE CAMP WITH YOUR MATES BUT DON'T MAKE A VILLAGE GREEN.
 
GAS APPLIANCES OF ANY KIND, NAKED FLAMES I.E CANDLE TORCHES, FIRES OR FIRE JUGGLING IMPLEMENTS,  PARAFFIN OR OIL LAMPS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON SITE.
 
THERE WILL BE A SMALL NUMBER OF FOOD STALLS AND SHOPS IN THE CAMPSITES AND A LARGE VARIETY OF BOTH IN THE EVENT FIELD.
 
WE WILL BE EXPANDING OUR EFFORTS TO RECYCLE USING BINS THIS YEAR TO PLEASE HELP US BY USING THEM.  BIN BAGS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO ALL FROM THE CAMPSITE INFORMATION HUBS SITUATED IN EACH OF THE CAMPSITES.
 
 
CAMPSITE INFORMATION HUBS
THIS YEAR WE ARE INTRODUCING  CAMPSITE INFORMATION HUBS SITUATED  IN EACH OF THE CAMPSITES SO ANY QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS YOU MAY HAVE IN RELATION TO YOUR CAMPING EXPERIENCE THESE LADS AND LASSES WILL BE HAPPY TO HELP. 
 
THE FESTIVAL SAMARITANS WILL BE MAKING A WELCOME RETURN THIS YEAR AND WILL BE SITUATED IN THE CAMPSITE.  THEY ARE AVAILABLE TO CHAT TO 24 HOURS A DAY SHOULD YOU FEEL THE NEED TO TALK TO SOMEONE.
 
 
CAMPER-VANS
CAMPER VANS AND CARAVANS ARE WELCOME, A SEPARATE AREA HAS BEEN SET ASIDE FOR THEM.  VEHICLES DELIVERING CARAVANS MUST BE REMOVED TO THE CAR PARK AFTER SITING.  WE DO NOT INTEND TO PROVIDE ELECTRICAL  POINTS BUT WILL BE ASKING IF THIS IS A SERVICE YOU WOULD LIKE IN THE FUTURE.  
 
GAS EQUIPMENT FITTED TO CAMPER VANS AND CARAVAN MAY BE USED , PROVIDED IT HAS BEEN INSTALLED AND MAINTAINED WITH REGULATIONS PERTAINING TO ITS USE.  THE USE OF GAS EQUIPMENT OTHER THAN FITTED IN A CAMPER VAN WILL NOT BE ALLOWED.  OPEN FIRES, BARBECUE'S OR NAKED FLAMES WILL NOT BE PERMITTED IN THE CAMPER VAN AREA.
 
 
PARKING
THE MAIN CAR PARK IS SITUATED APPROXIMATELY 900 METRES FROM THE MAIN ENTRANCE TO THE FESTIVAL SITE.  GO GREEN AND MAKE USE OF OUR EXCELLENT BUS SERVICE INSTEAD OF DRIVING.
 
CAR PARKING PASSES CAN BE PURCHASED THROUGH THE BLOODSTOCK STORE UP UNTIL AUGUST 2ND 2010 AT THE PRICE OF £10.00 PER TICKET. THESE WILL THEN COME OFFLINE ON AUGUST 3RD AND CAN THEN ONLY BE PURCHASED AT THE BLOODSTOCK CAR PARKING OFFICE AT THE REVISED PRICE OF £15.00 .
 
TOILET FACILITIES
PORTALOOS WILL BE SITUATED THROUGHOUT THE ARENA AND CAMPSITES.  PLEASE DON'T PUT ANYTHING DOWN THEM OTHER THAN THE OBVIOUS.
 
 
SHOWERS
SHOWERS WILL BE AVAILABLE IN THE CAMPSITE AND A SMALL CHARGE WILL BE MADE FOR USING THIS FACILITY.
 
 
LITTER 
THROW YOUR RUBBISH IN ONE OF THE MANY BINS SITUATED AROUND THE FESTIVAL SITE... PLEASE PLEASE USE THEM. HELP US TO KEEP OUR CLEAN UP COSTS DOWN WHICH HELPS US TO KEEP TICKET PRICES LOW. 
 
 
RECYCLING
WE ARE TAKING A HUGE STEP THIS YEAR WITH OUR RECYCLING PROGRAMME AND YOU WILL FIND DESIGNATED RECYCLING BINS AROUND THE FESTIVAL SITE FOR YOUR USED CANS AND PLASTIC BOTTLES.  DUE TO THE SUCCESS OF LAST YEARS PAPER CUP RECYCLING THIS WILL BE IN OPERATION ACROSS ALL THE BARS AGAIN THIS YEAR.  NOT A PAPER CUP WAS TO BE SEEN ON THE GROUND LAST YEAR.
  
 
HEALTH & SAFETY
PARAMEDIC, MEDICAL AND WELFARE FACILITIES ARE AVAILABLE ON SITE 24 HOURS A DAY, AS WELL AS THE FESTIVAL SAMARITANS WHO WILL BE MAKING A WELCOME RETURN TO THE CAMPSITE AND ARE ALSO ON HAND 24 HOURS A DAY TO CHAT TO ANYONE WHO NEEDS A FRIENDLY EAR.  THERE WILL BE 24 HOUR SECURITY ON SITE AND ON HAND TO KEEP YOU SAFE AND OUT OF TROUBLE.  HAVE FUN BUT RESPECT YOUR FELLOW METAL HEADS.  BLOODSTOCK HAS AN EXEMPLARY HISTORY FOR BEING A FRIENDLY SAFE EXPERIENCE... LET'S KEEP IT THAT WAY.

BRING PLENTY OF SUNSCREEN, A HAT AND ENOUGH CASH FOR THE WEEKEND,  PROOF OF I.D AND OF COURSE DON'T  FORGET TO BRING YOUR TICKET.  THERE WILL BE PLENTY OF MARKET STALLS AND A CAMPSITE SHOP, SHOULD YOU FORGET TO BRING ANYTHING YOU WILL NO DOUBT FIND IT AT THE FESTIVAL.

AS ALWAYS THERE WILL BE A SIGNING TENT SITUATED IN THE ARENA NEAR THE MAIN STAGE WHERE YOU CAN MEET YOUR FAVOURITE BAND AND GET THAT ALL IMPORTANT PHOTOGRAPH OR SIGNATURE YOU HAVE BEEN AFTER FOR AGES. 
 
 
DISABLED FACILITIES
THERE IS A CAMPING AND PARKING AREA FOR DISABLED VISITORS WHICH IS RESERVED CLOSE TO ALL LOCAL AMENITIES, PLEASE NOTE THAT ONLY VEHICLES DISPLAYING A VALID DISABLED BLUE BADGE WILL BE PERMITTED IN TO THIS AREA, NO EXCEPTIONS.  THERE WILL BE A DISABLED PLATFORM IN THE ARENA TO ALLOW EASY VIEWING OF THE MAIN STAGE.
ALTHOUGH THE FESTIVAL GROUND IS VERY FLAT, IT IS SITUATED ON GREENBELT  THEREFORE IF WE DO HAVE INCLEMENT WEATHER THERE COULD BE A FEW AREAS AROUND THE SITE NOT SUITED FOR WHEELCHAIRS.  STEWARDS ARE ON HAND AT ALL TIMES SHOULD YOU NEED ANY ASSISTANCE
 
DISABLED CUSTOMERS IN RECEIPT OF DISABILITY LIVING ALLOWANCE WILL BE PROVIDED WITH ONE FREE TICKET FOR THEIR CARER, BUT YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE PURCHASED A FESTIVAL TICKET FOR THE DISABLED CUSTOMER BEFORE APPLYING FOR THE FREE TICKET.

FILMING AT THE FESTIVAL
BLOODSTOCK WILL HAVE A FILM CREW IN SITE FOR THE FULL 3 DAYS AND HAS THE RIGHT TO FILM THE EVENT INCLUDING THE PUBLIC FOR SUBSEQUENT INTERNATIONAL TELEVISION, RADIO, ONLINE AND MOBILE DISTRIBUTION AND THE USE OF SCREEN AND TELEVISION FOOTAGE FOR PROMOTIONAL PURPOSES.
 
 
WHERE TO STAY
CATTON HALL IS LOCATED AT THE CENTRE OF A TRIANGLE OF TOWNS, LICHFEILD, BURTON ON TRENT AND TAMWORTH.  EACH TOWN IS APPROXIMATELY 6 - 8 MILES FROM THE FESTIVAL SITE.
 
IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO USE THE CAMPSITE THEN WE SUGGEST STAYING IN LICHFIEILD OR BURTON ON TRENT.  BOTH TOWN'S HAVE MANY B & B'S, GUEST HOUSES AND HOTELS.  IF YOU ARE NOT DRIVING THEN YOU CAN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE FROM EITHER LICHFIELD CITY OR BURTON ON TRENT RAILWAY STATION THAT WILL BRING YOU TO AND FROM THE FESTIVAL SITE EACH DAY.
