BLOODSTOCK is excited to announce seven more of metal’s finest for the UK’s heaviest weekender, including a clutch of bands from the farthest flung corners of the globe. Friday’s line up will now include extreme prog metal Aussies, NE OBLIVISCARIS for their long awaited debut on UK soil. The band proclaim, “UK, here we come! 2015 is the year we are finally going to reach your shores and we couldn’t be more excited to announce that it will be as part of the enormous BLOODSTOCK festival. We’re looking forward to playing alongside many of the best and biggest heavy acts from across the world!” Get a taste for them in this clip from their Australian tour in November https://youtu.be/WdW88MzfHec . . Also joining Friday’s fray are the London based group SILAS, who describe themselves as a “fusion of genres”. Curious? BURGERKILL and JASAD are two of the country’s biggest metal acts, even counting the country’s metal-loving prime minister, Joko Widodo among their fans. Ol comments "I'm very excited to be returning to Bloodstock in a musical capacity. The weekend is fully booked off work (I was going anyway) and we're rehearsing right now. It’ll be a very special show, so don’t miss it. I’ll no doubt be having my fair share of drinks and Jagermeister afterwards and no doubt be returning to work feeling buzzed yet terrible. This is probably the only show I'll be doing to promote the album. Hope to see you there!" The album’s lead track, 'Guitarists Playing Guitars' features the likes of Gary Holt (Slayer/Exodus), James Murphy (Death/Testament/Obituary), Josh Middleton (Sylosis) and Mike Heller (Fear Factory, on drums). Check it out now on Spotify: http://open.spotify.com/track/1YdYUEsRxVB2UGkrqLn4JD . Sunday also sees the return to Catton Park of South Wales metallers, TRIAXIS, who release their third album ‘Zero Hour’ on May 18th via Rocksector Records. As we rock up to Easter, BLOODSTOCK Festival has once again enlisted the Easter Bunny's heavy metal cousin to stash a load of easter eggs around the BLOODSTOCK website. Will you be one of the lucky winners of a pair of weekend tickets with camping for August's knees up at Catton Park?! We've two pairs to give away. To enter the hunt, simply go to the Bloodstock website and find the 12 golden easter eggs. Collect the URLs of the pages where each one is hidden, email those in to firstname.lastname@example.org, with your name and address included and you could be in with a chance of winning! The hunt begins at 8am on Good Friday, 3rd April and ends at 8pm on Tuesday 7th April. Click over to the BLOODSTOCK website at www.bloodstock.uk.com to take part. BLOODSTOCK are also busy sorting out their bar offerings for 2015. BLOODSTOCK prides itself on delivering quality at great prices and this year they'll be working alongside new bar operators, Bespoke Festival Bars, who own and run a number of fantastic local pubs. The ale partner of choice is once again the award winning Hobgoblin, BLOODSTOCK's co-partner of several years. Hobgoblin are also proud sponsors of BLOODSTOCK's Metal 2 The Masses unsigned programme and will lend their name to the newly christened 'Hobgoblin New Blood Stage' for 2015. Changes to bar offerings this year include the lager on tap now being Carling! BLOODSTOCK is also pleased to bring you Carling Cider on tap too, which was voted the world’s #1 cider at the International Brewing Awards 2013. As well as some other beery additions, they'll be launching a newly-brewed BLOODSTOCK ale (or two)! This will be brewed locally at The Boot Brewery, just down the road in Repton, Derbyshire. There'll also be an increased range of ales and ciders across all bars on site, and as usual, an especially broad selection in the VIP Serpents Lair bar. The full list of pints on offer this year are still being decided, but last year’s 100+ selection included such gems as Devil’s Deadly Weapon, Rainbow In The Dark, Stairway To Heaven, Black Sabbath, Doom Bar, Top Totty, and of course, our favourite, Hobgoblin. For those who prefer their shorts, there will also be a selection of cocktails, at least in the VIP Serpents Lair bar. You may ask, “Don’t all these good things come at a price?” Having worked hard with the new bar partners this year, BLOODSTOCK can also proudly confirm the price of a pint will go DOWN from 2014’s £4.10 per pint to 2015’s £4.00 per pint! Tickets for BLOODSTOCK 2015 are available via the 24hr ticketline at 0871 230 5584 or online at http://bloodstock.seetickets.com/event/bloodstock-2015/catton-park/809956
As we rock towards Easter, BLOODSTOCK are busy locking in their first round of promotional club nights and confirming Thursday’s kick-off proceedings on the Sophie Lancaster stage. Military-clad ARNOCORPS are set to headline the Sophie stage on the traditionally fun-filled Thursday evening, so slap on some camo, be prepared for ‘audience interaction’, and witness their self-described ‘action adventure hardcore rock and roll’. If you didn’t already know, ARNOCORPS are the world’s only band to feature lyrics based exclusively on Arnold Schwarzenegger films (thankfully, mostly the action classics of the 80’s rather than Kindergarten Cop)! The band enthuse; “We’re so pumped to be bringing our action adventure, audio assault to the ballsiest of all metal festivals! As far back as our first UK tour in ‘06, our fans have prayed each and every year for ARNOCORPS to perform at BLOODSTOCK. Finally Crom has listened! On Thursday night, all attendees will gain unprecedented muscle mass as they become goddamn heroes and sheroes!! GO!!!” The Brits are out in force on Thursday, as thrash metalheads REIGN OF FURY will open the fest. Also joining are 2014’s ‘Metal 2 The Masses’ overall victors, the dual-fronted melodic progsters METAPRISM, Welsh death metallers DESECRATION and ‘pirate folk metal’ outfit, RED RUM. Obviously a rousing party tune - check out Red Rum’s ‘Make Port, Drink Port’ on the YouTube video below: Once the bands have played each day, the after-hours entertainment in the big top Sophie Stage borders on legendary, so be sure to book your extra day off and rock up to Catton Park early on Thursday, pitch your tent and get your beer hat on in time for the evening’s fun. On Thursday night from 10.30pm, the Warm Up party will be in full swing, running through ‘til 3am. Come out, get fired up on the best metal from the house DJs, meet your fellow Bloodstockers and make new friends. Stay tuned for details on Thursday night’s party theme (in case you want to plan a splendid fancy dress outfit) in due course!
2015’s first phase of BLOODSTOCK club nights are nailed down! More will be added for June, July and early August, so don’t despair if your nearest rock club isn’t listed yet. In the meantime, get along to one of the following, check out the tunes from BLOODSTOCK bands old and new, and be in with the chance of winning weekend tickets or related giveaways. Hilarity is bound to ensue… last year’s club nights included the likes of bucking broncos, endurance tests, and air guitaring in the showdowns to win tickets!!
