There’s less than a week to go before the heavy metal hoardes thunder on to Catton Park’s hallowed turf for BLOODSTOCK 2016! Have you got your tickets and are ready to go? Here’s a few last minute things you might want to bear in mind...
Due to unforseen circumstances, unfortunately MYRATH will no longer be performing at BLOODSTOCK 2016. Rip-snortin’ Bristol lads BULL-RIFF STAMPEDE(www.facebook.com/bullriffstampedebandpage) are stepping up to the plate and slot into the last gap on Saturday’s Sophie stage. Watch the video for the title track of their Kerrang! KKKK-rated “exhilarating” new album, ‘Enraging The Beast’ at https://youtu.be/ZFXKCUoJ764.
Looking for stage times to plan your weekend’s viewing? Download the BLOODSTOCK app today from the App Store or Google Play and get the up-to-date stage times for all bands and all stages. You can also find stagetimes in the ‘Forums’ on the BLOODSTOCK website at www.bloodstock.uk.com.
As in previous years, the TEENAGE CANCER TRUST will have a stall in the market, where you can join in with the popular ‘T-Shirt Amnesty’. Do your bit for charity and clear some drawer space by bringing your unwanted band t-shirts to donate or trade-in for an alternative. Look out for their stand in the main arena.
Love the Jägermeister? Be on the lookout for the ‘Jäger BOA’, an exclusive Jäger-based cocktail created for BLOODSTOCK at the Jägermeister stage bar & in the Serpents Lair VIP bar. A blend of Jägermeister with passion fruit syrup, sparkling grapefruit and garnished with a slice of blood orange, it’s certainly a tasty one to try out.
The Kraken Black Spiced Rum has also unleashed itself in the form of the UK’s first alcoholic black ice cream. The very metal Kraken I SCREAM van will be in residence within its own black picket fenced area, with oversized black deck chairs for metal fans to kick-back and enjoy the blackest ice-cream available. No kids allowed for this devilish treat, it’s adults only. The Kraken I SCREAM van will also double up as a bar and serve cocktails including their popular classic, ‘Perfect Storm’.
What started as a Facebook joke between friends has snowballed into a real ‘thing’! On Thursday night’s party night on the Sophie stage, BEHOLDER frontman and BLOODSTOCK’s ‘Metal 2 The Masses’ head honcho, Simon Hall will be doing a ‘forward roll’ on stage to raise funds for The Sophie Lancaster Foundation. Chuck in a quid for a good cause and get clued up on the ‘joke’ here -https://goo.gl/rbpqUU.
Got your tent ready?! This year, our campsite partner is Miss Daisy’s Camping Store. If you don’t want to tow a ton of camping gear to site, order online and collect your stuff from the Miss Daisy tent in the main Midgard campsite. Place your order or just see what’s available via their ‘click & collect’ service here - http://www.missdaisyscampingstore.co.uk/.
Want to check out the 2016 merch range? BLOODSTOCK's online 'click & collect' service allows you to pre-order your favourites for on site collection. Festival attendees can snap up their choice of t-shirt or grab the 2016 beer mug or hip flask without fear of their size or design being already sold out on site. Simply pre-order at https://bmerch.com/store/bloodstock/collect-on-site and collect at the merch stall in the arena at any point over the weekend, knowing your item is guaranteed and paid for. Maybe you want that BOA hoodie for when the sun goes down, so just collect it from the merch stall then to save a trip back to your tent!
