Sustainability Policy
In an ever-worsening climate crisis we all need to work together to reduce our carbon footprint. We are more committed today than ever to our 'BLOODSTOCK Goes Greener' campaign!
In 2022, Bloodstock invited AGF (A Greener Future) to attend our festival in order to gain ourGreener festival Certification, to enable us to demonstrate independently verified green credentials to our audience and community. https://www.agreenerfuture.com/greener-festival-certification
This was a rigorous process as the AGF team assessed every key element of our sustainability including energy, food & beverage, transport, waste, water, social responsibility, and policy and strategies for reducing CO2 emissions. The assessment helped to show us how we are doing so far and how to improve on what we already do. 2022 saw us receive our first ever Greener festival certification. We learnt so much from this and will continue to improve on every element of what we
do. But this responsibility isn’t just down to us as the organisers, we need your help too in order to lower our CO2 emissions.
BLOODSTOCK’S SUSTAINABILITY TARGET
Bloodstock has committed to work to the ‘Green Events Code’
Committed to a minimum of 50% reduction of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 2030, with specific targets including a 50% reduction in fossil fuel consumption by
2025, a reduction of at least 30% in meat and dairy consumption onsite by 2030, and to completely eliminate single use plastic by 2025.
Here are just some of the activations that actually make a positive difference at Bloodstock.
1.RECYCLABLE PAPER CUPS ACROSS ALL BARS
We are incentivising big and little moshers to collect as many used paper cups as possible that you find lying around site that were used across our bars. The more cups you collect, the more awards you get towards free pints, free merch, free food etc. Just hand them in at the Lemmy’s Bar and start
collecting points to make prizes including, free food and drink, merchandise, experiences etc.
2. BRING REFILLABLE WATER BOTTLES
We have drinking water points clearly marked across the arena and campsites to encourage people to refill their cups, bottles and flasks rather than buy more plastic water bottles.
3. RECYCLING POINTS
We are asking all BLOODSTOCKers to help by using the clearly signed recycling points in the arena & campsites for the duration of the festival.
4. 100% BIODEGRADABLE FOOD PACKAGING
All Food traders in the arena and backstage caterers at Bloodstock only use 100% biodegradable food packaging, plates and utensils.
5. SAY NO TO SINGLE USE TENTS
Together with our tent partners Fat Franks Camping Shop and Tangerine Fields, we want to encourage you to either take your tent home with you after the festival or if you don't want the hassle of bringing a tent with you in the first place, you can either Click and Collect a tent and all camping equipment from Fat Franks FAT FRANKS Camping Shop or you can simply hire a pre-erected tent, airbed, bedding etc from TANGERINE FIELDS which will be ready and waiting to move into when you arrive at the festival - Fat Franks Camping shop is situated just inside the entrance of the Midgard campsite and Tangerine Fields pre erected tents are situated in the Asgard Campsite.
