DREAM EVIL will be kicking off the proceedings at BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR 2010, with the first slot of the festival. With their catchy, anthemic and powerful brand of Heavy Metal, we can’t think of a more fun way to get the party started.
Bassist Pete Pain is looking forward to the band’s return:
"It's super nice to come back to play at the festival where we baptised Dannee Demon as new DREAM EVIL axeman. The memory fragments from Bloodstock are just positive and we feel great about coming back again in 2010! See you all soon!"
Formed by renowned producer Fredrik Nordström in 1999, Dream Evil was the realisation of Nordström’s long-held plan to establish his own power metal outfit. For the first line-up, he recruited Firewind guitarist Gus G, former King Diamond/Mercyful Fate drummer Snowy Shaw, bassist Peter Stålfors and vocalist Niklas Isfeld. The band soon bagged a deal with Century Media Records who issued their debut album Dragonslayer in 2002. It was an instant success, particularly in Japan, and the band quickly set about recording its follow-up, 2003’s Evilized. Their third album, The Book of Heavy Metal, followed in 2004 and marked the departure of Gus G.
High profile tours with the likes of HammerFall and Saxon brought the band to wider audiences and despite several shifts in line-up including the departure of Snowy Shaw, they returned in 2006 with the album United. Gold Medal in Metal, a DVD/CD package featuring live performances and rare tracks, emerged in 2008 forming a welcome stop-gap as the band continue to work on their forthcoming studio album, tentatively titled In The Night.
