The heavy metal band that played at Bloodstock’s Indoor Festival in 2003, have recently had their site attacked by hackers. According to a statement on the groups site on Saturday, Nightwish were targeted by the hackers on Friday 20th October.
A hacker had succeeded in placing infected files on the Finnish band’s site, which contaminated some of the visitors using the website at the time. On Saturday 21st October the problem was detected and fixed.
Approximately 30,000 people use the Nightwish.com internet pages daily. The extent of the virus’s damage to the site is not yet known.
