This year’s Metal 2 The Masses search for the best unsigned acts has been a huge success with well over 500 bands entering all hoping for the chance to perform not only on Bloodstock’s New Blood Stage this year but with our good friends at Wacken and Metalcamp in 2012. We are delighted to announce that not one, but two of this years winning bands who performed on the New Blood Stage will be representing the UK on foreign soil next year.
Firstly, extreme Symphonic Metallers Saturnian will be representing the UK at Wacken in the Worldwide Metal Battle competition.
“We at Saturnian are extremely excited to announce our debut appearance at Wacken 2012, aided in no small part by Bloodstock and their Metal To The Masses tournament.
Despite the grandeur of our music, the spirit of DIY is strong in this band, and that spirit is embodied in Bloodstock, and their unyielding passion for the underground. We look forward to sharing that spirit with our brothers and sisters on the continent, this is just the beginning!”
Further to this the South Coast Black Metal outfit The Furious Horde will be making their way to Slovenia to rip up the stage at Metalcamp! Having entered the Bloodstock Metal 2 the Masses over several years, learning from the experience and improving each time, 2011 was their year. They won the Essex final and played the New Blood stage at Bloodstock 2011 but now the Bloodstock Metal 2 the Masses platform has launched them into Europe.
“We're absolutely ecstatic! We love creating our music and are thrilled that people like what we do. We're honoured to be given the opportunity to share our music in another country. The Metal 2 The Masses and getting to play at Bloodstock was an incredible experience, but now that we have been given the opportunity to play at Metal Camp 2012, we're going to push ourselves further!
Not only was it an absolute blast for us all, but it's really helped us to 'get out there' and reach a wider audience. We were over the moon with the positive response and support we received from old and new fans alike! Bloodstock genuinely cares about metal and gives unsigned bands a chance to reach new heights! It truly is a festival BY metal fans FOR metal fans. Their support for newer bands is a true testament to this”.
The 2012 Metal 2 The Masses will soon be in full effect with venues and promoters, in both the UK and Europe making moves to work with Bloodstock to find the best in Underground Metal. Stay tuned for updates in the next few weeks.
