With just over six weeks to go, BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR adds another two acts to it’s 2011 line up.
Celtic metalheads PRIMORDIAL join the Sunday line up on the RONNIE JAMES DIO stage, to show BOA why they are one of the most highly regarded bands to emerge from the emerald isle. Celebrating 20 years together, PRIMORDIAL have long been at the forefront of the international black metal scene, mixing black, celtic and folk metal together to create a sound that’s truly their own. Over the course of eight studio albums, PRIMORDIAL have consistently received high praise for their innovation and execution, and we look forward to a powerful and atmospheric show at CATTON HALL this August.
With the main stage line-up now complete, it's over to the SOPHIE stage for the next addition, which comes in the form of homegrown headbangers XERATH. XERATH represent the cutting edge of British heavy metal. Combining monumental orchestral arrangements with bone shattering riffs on an epic scale, this outfit delivers the most forward thinking brand of progressive metal music. With polyrhythmic riffs and beats mixed with orchestral and symphonic elements, XERATH bring to mind the likes of Strapping Young Lad, Meshuggah, Dimmu Borgir and Opeth, all the while remaining innovative and eclectic, and will be ones to watch at BLOODSTOCK for sure.
