On a positive note, Chris Slade, Damage Control’s powerhouse drummer will be opening the festival with an AC/DC tribute.
The reason the band can’t appear is Robin George, the guitar player with the band suffered an unfortunate accident that has left him unable to play in time for the show.
Robin says…
I was walking my English Mastiff, Lucille, through a quiet Spanish village when an old senora came round a corner, saw the dog and started screaming like a banshee, freaking the dog out completely.
Lucille ran towards the woman in a panic, and I tried to grab her as she raced past me. Ten stone dog at twenty miles per hour, my finger stuck in her collar. The snap sounded like a pistol shot, a noise I never want to hear again. My finger had broken right behind the nail and was bent so the nail was touching my knuckle. The force span me round, I lost my balance, and unable to put my hand out to save myself, fell onto a low wall and fractured three ribs! Just as I thought things couldn’t get worse, the banshee kicked off again, the panicked dog ran to me, jumped on my foot and crushed my toes.
In other words, I'm not able to play, walk or cough for the near future!
Damage Control hope to see you at Bloodstock next year.
Enjoy Chris’s set and have a great festival!
Cheers
Robin
