In the run up to last years Festival, Bloodstock Open Air gave the opportunity for one lucky participant to win a unique BC Rich Guitar donated by our good friends at Rosetti. This guitar was one of a kind signed by Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen, Herman Li and Tony Iommi.
This fantastic offering came in support of The Sophie Lancaster Foundation with proceeds from the sale of a bespoke Bloodstock / Sophie Wristband going towards helping the foundation spread the word to Stamp Out Prejudice, Hatred and Intolerance Everywhere.
Well folks out of the huge support we had for the competition, the Bloodstock Team are delighted to announce that Suzy Kay from Stevenage was the lucky recipient of this incredible prize. Suzy who is a Bloodstock Fan, is also a fervent supporter of the Sophie Campaign and openly said..
“Just because people dress differently doesn’t make them any different underneath ...and I think the work Sylvia (Sophie’s mother) is doing is absolutely amazingâ€
Suzy’s full interview can be heard on the Bloodstock Podcast on the Mongo’s Metal 2 The Masses Show. bloodstock.podomatic.com
Bloodstock organisers were proud to rename their 3rd stage ‘The Sophie Lancaster Stage’ in tribute to this young girl who was fatally attacked along with her boyfriend in 2007 while walking through their local park in Bacup, Lancashire. And to this end Bloodstock are happy to announce that they will continue their support in 2010 and retain the 3rd Stage in her memory.
