Bloodstock's Webmaster has come out of his darkened room after forgoing the need to eat, sleep and more interesting pastimes as he has slaved through and cross referenced EVERY vote cast in the Metal 2 The Masses competition. What would have taken a mere mortal until the 2012 Olympics to establish, our Virtual Voting Vanquisher has removed all the dodgy ones and at last can publish the results. As there are always more losers than winners, this has been a thankless task (but thanks anyway) and for those of you who feel tired, emotional or aggrieved at the outcome...............there's always 2009. Applications now closed. The Bloodstock Unsigned Stage (in the Scuzz Underground Marquee) and Lava Stage (in the GH3 Marquee) have received record amounts of the finest unsigned and underground bands - we could have done Festivals every week with the quality and quantity you guys sent us! We just kept extending the deadline to make sure we definitely got the best metal out there. And this year....we sure have. Any submissions from here on in will only be considered for 2009 and any initiatives we may have between Festivals. We've got amazing line ups for both stages - featuring bands, djs, metal karaoke, Guitar Hero 3 competition and yep, lots more. So just keep checking out the site for regular updates. Voting for the UK wide initiative Metal 2 The Masses has opened. Bloodstock was inundated with venues wanting to host their own heats in order to put forward 4 bands to represent their area. All the voters have to do is go to the forum page on www.bloodstock.uk.com and click on the unsigned section and well, basically...vote for the band of your choice at each venue. From over 50 venue applicants we selected hosts at Alton, Birmingham, Derby, Glasgow, Kent and Swindon. Each of these partner venues held several heats over March, April and May to find the best Metal bands in and around their county. Read more
