After a string of raging performances and stunning reviews, Sanguine quickly developed a reputation for energetic and intimidating live shows. This impact was not just restricted to audiences; other bands were left stunned that a female fronted act could carve something new into the alternative rock and metal scene. On two occasions the headlining bands refused to go on stage after seeing Sanguine’s show.
Following the success of their live performances Sanguine went on to record a number of demo’s in their loft. Shortly after putting the demo’s on their myspace page they were contacted by the lead singer of U.K metal legends Sikth, asking if he could work with them as a producer. Shortly after that they came into contact with Dan Bage and Chris Clancy from a U.S band currently on Roadrunner (Mutiny Within) who helped record and mix the new album due out early 2010 entitled ‘Fake Smiles and Happy Pills’.
In the meantime Sanguine released one of their demo’s with a video by Mud Vayne/Dresdon Dolls director/editior Carl Shanahan. The end result was ‘Live, Consume, Drive’. The band never could have anticipated the reaction the video would get and only 4 weeks after its release it was playlisted on both Kerrang TV and Scuzz T.V. It didn’t stop there, and gradually as word spread, the new single was play listed on radio stations such as XFM, Total Rock, Manchester and Glasgow Rock Radio and even Sky T.V’s Music Choice. They also got played on a number of smaller T.V and radio stations including Sky’s Propeller TV on a program called ‘Choons’. The video can be viewed at www.sanguineband.com
The press described the band and video as ‘jaw dropping’ ‘Earth Shattering’ and the Fly Magazine dubbed it the ‘best music video they have ever seen from an unsigned band’,
The new album is currently being mixed at Bieler Studio’s in Miami by Chris Clancy and Dan Bage so the first mixes will be available soon.
Since completing the recording of the new album word has been out and Tarin has been asked to contribute vocals to rock legend Adrian Smith, 6-stringmeister of Iron Maiden
fame’s forthcoming solo project.
The physical release of the Live Consume Drive EP, available from CD Baby, iTunes and the band’s own web site, includes the video of Live Consume Drive and video footage of Simplify shot live at The Phoenix Theatre in Exeter UK.
