who are pioneering a fusion of old school principles with modern

dynamics and power. Employing the 3 headed Cerberus of melody, groove

and extremity, this unstoppable beast is set to crush all opposition,

leaving only a trail of musically satisfied corpses.

After releasing their debut EP “The Heathen Throne” at the end of

2008, Ancient Ascendant received critical acclaim from the UK press,

and went on to tour the country with Fleshgod Apocalypse in 2009.

During this time, the band were honing their style and developing

their live show, culminating in 2010 by being handpicked by death

metal legends Bolt Thrower to open their sell out London show, their

first in 4 years.

2011 was a very exciting and successful year for Ancient Ascendant,

seeing them sign to Siege of Amida Records and release their debut

album “The Grim Awakening” which was well received across the world.

This lead to them being asked to join the Factory Music booking

agency, which resulted in a UK/Ireland tour as main support to

Norwegian black metal luminaries 1349. Other highlights of the year

included sharing the stage with some huge names in the world of

extreme metal such as Blood Red Throne, Aeon, Cerebral Bore, Amputated

and Dyscarnate.

2012 sees Ancient Ascendant already hard at work crafting their next

offering. Prepare yourself for the unveiling of their unique vision of

Death Metal … Bloodstock Open Air here we come!
