SANGUINEM
Melodic death metal band Sanguinem was founded in 2019 by Geos Letona bass player and song writer in London, UK. His purpose was to write songs with a more melodic musical direction, something which he has always been drawn to. He started writing songs in February 2019.
The first Sanguinem line-up consisted of Jerry Sadowski, who was drumming for Geos’s previous project Ace Mafia (alongside Richie Faulkner from Judas Priest), Merlin Bogado (recommended by Geos’s ex-bandmate) and Marcus Hadjithoma (Monsterworks) on guitars with Ricardo Gates as a singer. Shortly after the debut gig was booked at The Dev in Camden Town, London, opening the bill for a full day metal festival, Ricardo had to leave the band for personal reasons.
Three weeks before the gig new singer, Juan Pablo Flores (JP), who was recommended by a friend (Joanna Kat) joined the band and saved the day so the gig went ahead. In late 2019 Merlin left the band due to prior plans and George Gt. Stergiou (Metalworks/Angel Nation) joined the band taking Merlin's place and added his guitar work to the album which was fully recorded by early 2020.
The single 'After Dead Visions' was released on the 12th July 2020 in most digital platforms, including a lockdown style video. The Debut album 'Solitude' was released 06/06/2022. Hate Transfusion video was released in April 2023 with more than 33K views on Youtube. In November 2022 Sanguinem played their first Heat for Metal to the Masses which led them through the competition to the finals and win it on 3rd June 2023. Currently Jerry is taking a break from the band due to other commitments, so James Wise stepped in on drums.
Sanguinem is super stocked to win The London Metal To The Masses Competition and get the opportunity to play the amazing Bloodstock Festival 2023. We put heart and soul into it. We want to thank everybody who supported us throughout this process. We can’t wait to see you all at Bloodstock.
