Band Line Up 2018

LIMB
Limb began in a damp and cold basement in the winter of 2011. Within a year, Witch Hunter Records had picked up the band’s self-recorded demo, and it wasn’t long until Limb was invited onto the New Heavy Sounds roster alongside bands including Black Moth, Vodun, Mammoth Weed Wizard Bastard and Antlered Man.
Limb combine thick, heavy tones with punchy and nimble song writing to bring together the best of retro fuzz sounds with modern metal.
Two ferocious EPs followed—the Gift of the Sun 7” and a split with fellow Londoners Gurt—until Limb released their self-titled debut album in 2014 that featured cover artwork by Richey Beckett (Metallica, Mastodon, Black Sabbath). They continued to play around the UK, including a tour with labelmates Black Moth, and were joined by ex-Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats drummer, Tom Mowforth. The new line-up—also including Rob Hoey, Sam Cooper and Pat Pask—was now ready to record their second album, and enlisted legendary producer Russ Russell (Napalm Death, The Wildhearts, Evile, Dimmu Borgir, etc.) to bring a new level of detail and depth to their already gargantuan sound. With the release of ‘Terminal’ in September 2015 amid overwhelming critical acclaim, not least from Terrorizer, Kerrang and Metal Hammer in the UK and Metal Injection in the States, Limb also entered a new stage in their immersive live show. Headlining Leeds’ No Fun Intended festival and the infamous When Planets Collide weekender in Brixton, Limb’s new record has also brought them to a new audience, as demonstrated by a recent packed show with Indana’s dirty blues trio Left Lane Cruiser.
In February 2016 their track ‘dawn raiders’ was premiered by the Nerdist website and was chosen as ‘track of the week’ by classic rock magazine ahead of their UK tour with Vodun and summer festival slots at The Great Escape, Red Sun and Hard Rock Hell with Orange Goblin and Candlemass.
A few months Limb headed to Europe to play in Copenhagen, Hamburg, Berlin, Eindhoven and ending in Leeuwarden headlining a stage at Into The Void festival alongside Fu Manchu, Conan & Karma To Burn.
In 2017, after a of successful run of UK shows with Lionize, Nick Oliveri, Dopethrone and more, Limb headed out on another full UK tour with Desert Storm.
Limb are currently just finished recording album number, once more with Russ Russell as producer, for a release in May 2018 and are now booking future tours and festivals. In March they appeared at Hammerfest X alongside Skindred, Sepultura, HellYeah and more.
We can't believe what a great honour it is to be asked to play this amazing festival! Our labelmates Vodun & Black moth have both played incredible sets on the Sophie stage and now we get our chance to join them in stamping our name into the amazing Bloodstock story. We are ready to make some ungodly noise for you all! Massive love, Limb.
"Londoners Limb are a band for whom riffs come first, oxygen a distant second. You can practically feel the grooves shaking from your speakers throughout." KERRANG "An epic outburst of tension filled malice. Terminal is a sure-footed album created by a truly promising band" ROCK A ROLLA "This is dark chaotic stuff, gutteral yet coherent and guaranteed to annoy your neighbours. What's not to like?" POWER PLAY "This is gruff, drunken Orange Goblin-spirited, British Scissorfight or Alabama Thunderpussy drenched output, although carrying a pissed off vibe throughout that forces you to take it seriously." NINEHERTZ "Armed with an immense swagger, this sucker threatens the ear drum with pure rawness and mass heaviness, it’s as powerful as a British bulldog and it stands out as one solid piece." DOOMED & STONED "If you're not into bands that leave you feeling like you've been elbowed in the face with a barrage of heavy riffage, then look away now" HEAVY PLANET "A great hybrid of charger and speedhorn" TERRORIZER ”Something like Down wearing Electric Wizard's resin encrusted jeans.” METAL HAMMER
