Band Line Up 2018

Forming just over two years ago, Nottingham based black metallers Underdark utilize a mixture of black metal, post metal and shoegaze elements similar to artists such as Deafheaven, Wolves in the Throne Room, Cult of Luna, Alcest and Oathbreaker to create a tidal wave-esqe wall of sound that drowns you between sections of crushing blast beats and ear splitting vocals to blissful, atmospheric soundscapes that simply engulfs you amongst it. 

Since forming, Underdark have played countless shows up and down the country in support of their debut EP Mourning Cloak and their follow up split release with fellow Nottingham black metallers Antre, to uproarious responses. Underdark will lay waste to Bloodstock for the first time ever. Coming straight off the back of their debut mainland Europe tour, Underdark will be aiming to level bloodstock down to it’s very foundations.

“To put it lightly, we’re all completely blown away by the final result. Each heat we’ve played for the Nottingham edition of Metal 2 the Masses has been hugely tough, with us playing against some fantastic bands. It’s come as a complete shock to all five of us when we were announced as the winners. With a couple of us having visited Bloodstock for the past 8 or so years, having the chance to play at the festival comes as a huge honour for us”
