MAB
MAB is Alice Dionis (Psycho Jeremy - PJ), Jessica Dionis, Marina Cristofalo, and Lisa Masia.
The band's journey began in Sardinia in 1996, where they toured the island extensively, making their name and music (initially influenced by grunge and metal) widely known through local press and broadcasters.
In 2001, they relocated to London, where their sound evolved and transformed into what has been dubbed New Dark - Dream meets reality: a wicked mixture of metal, gothic and psychedelic atmospheres, streaming from the influence of their peaceful homeland and the acid necrosis of a neurotic London.
From small clubs to legendary stages such as Mean Fiddler, Koko, The Marquee, Islington Academy, Garage, and The Borderline (to name but a few), MAB built a solid reputation in the alternative music scene of the British capital.
In 2004, they opened for the iconic bands HIM and Cathedral at the Hammersmith Apollo, followed by a UK tour with Breed 77.
With three studio albums under their belt, NOUGAT! (1998), DECAY (2007), and ILLUSION (2011), the girls have been acclaimed by the media in Italy and Europe, performing at festivals such as the Traffic Festival in Turin (2007), and the Heineken Jammin Festival (2008) alongside QOTSA, IGGY POP, SEX PISTOLS, and LINKIN PARK.
Among their numerous achievements, MAB had the pleasure of collaborating with LENE LOVICH on the song "ASTROPHEL" (DECAY, 2007), paying tribute to GIUNI RUSSO for the album "UNUSUAL" (2006), and being chosen as collaborators by FRANCO BATTIATO for his album "IL VUOTO" (2007). Subsequently, they accompanied him on tour in Italy and Spain (2007/2008), and appeared with him on stage at Sanremo (2007) and in his movie 'NIENTE E' COME SEMBRA' (2007).
After a 15-year hiatus, MAB returned to live performance in 2023, with an exclusive and highly anticipated show at the Boston Music Room in Tufnell Park. Their comeback is a testament to the power of passion and dedication that fuels their music. MAB's journey continues, and it will bring new music to inspire generations of rockers to come.
