With a musical style that combines the best influences of Rock - Think Saxon without all the twiddly bits, Black Spiders for the fun, Motorhead for the heaviness and AC/DC for the awesome tunes, throw in a bit of Thunder and you’ve got Massive Wagons.
Since starting off playing in small pubs in and around the Lancaster area the Massive Wagon really has kept rolling and they are now one of the most talked about bands in the “one to watch” category. They are an established favourite at Biker rallies around the country and have supported bands such as Jettblack and Praying Mantis as well as playing stage 1 at Hard Rock Hell in 2012, earning themselves 7/10 from Metal Hammer for their performance and then a return slot in 2013.
2012 saw the release of their début album “Fire it up” to critical acclaim.
“There are so many highlights to the album - from the fast and furious “Heavy Metal Man” to the sultry, smouldering “Death From Above” that it’s honestly hard to pick out a weak point. People often talk about the old grunge albums that had 8 or 9 hits on one CD, and this feels like one of those albums.” Rock Scene
2013 has delivered even greater things with supports to The Treatment, Maiden United and Dave Evans and numerous festivals including main stage appearances at Les-Fest and SOS Festival The band have just completed their much awaited second album, recording at Axis studios under the guidance of Matt Ellis and this should hit the streets by spring of 2014 with a full extensive tour to support.
Great tunes, Great Album, Great Live show - Massive Wagons are a band going places - as one reviewer put it...
“Can you ask for any more? Five extremely talented guys, playing classic, full force rock music. I think not. If you don’t like Massive Wagon’s then get the hell of this planet - as it is clear they are one of the best rock bands to surface from the UK of the past five years!” Planet Mosh
We are absolutely honoured to be part of Bloodstock and look forward to bringing some of the heavier noises we make. Bring it on, we absolutely can't wait for this!
