Band Line Up 2022

CAST IN TEPHRA is the birth child of founding members Ryan Thirtle on Lead Vocals & Tom Ferguson on Guitar/Vocals who came together in Mid-2018 to form a new North East based Brutal Deathcore project that would bring a new force of heaviness emanating from North East Metal & Core Community. The band would come together as a 5 piece band in 2019 with the additions of Shaun Payne on Bass/Vocals, Nathan Taylor on Drums & Ben Tait on Lead Guitar to complete line-up!

We have had the honour & opportunities to share the stage with the likes of Kraarnium, Filth, All Misery, Internal Bleeding, Party Cannon, Old Wharf, Harlekin, Monasteries, Gassed Up and many more amazing bands over the years!

In October 2022, CAST IN TEPHRA released their debut EP “REALM OF BLISSFUL IGNORANCE”.

All music & lyrics where written by Cast In Tephra between 2019-2021.

The EP was also Produced, Recorded, Mixed & Mastered by Andy Mallaby (Osiah) and features artwork by Rain Song Design (Whitechapel, Rose Funeral, Impending Doom & Fleshgod Apocalypse) along with layout design work done by our Bassist Shaun Payne (Thirteenth Hour Design). It features 2 guest appearances from Hayden Shemilt (Old Wharf) on the Debut single “FALLACY OF MINE” & also Ricky Lee Roper (Osiah) on the concluding track “A SPECK AMONGST THE SAND”.

METAL 2 THE MASSES has always been something we have wanted to do since we started this band in 2018 and not just for the opportunity to play Bloodstock but it gives us the chance to play with bands we don’t usually get to play with which is always a pleasure to play mixed bills with new upcoming bands in our scene. The crowds from the heats up to the finals have been extremely supportive and high energy throughout this whole competition and we can’t thank them enough for their love support for every band. Now that it is over, we are still in disbelief & awe that we are going to be playing Bloodstock festival on the New Blood Stage, this is a literal dream come true for us and already seeing the winners from this year’s competition and with the already announced bands for the main stages this is going to be a year to remember and we are truly honoured to be amongst some of the greatest metal bands from around the world!
