EVEREST QUEEN
Everest Queen are a 3 piece band playing progressive sludge metal spawned in Stevenage, Hertfordshire in 2013. The one and only intention is to drag mountains to the aphotic depths of the oceans via a tsunami of riffs, rust lung vocals, thunder invoking bass and the barbaric beating of drums.
To date, Everest Queen have released one studio EP to favourable reviews and thus far played with such acts as Countless Skies, Trippy Wicked, Gevaudan and Elephant Tree; in addition to a successful short tour of the UK with Irish sludge act Zhora and London-based doom titans Morag Tong.
With an album in the works, future gigs confirmed and tours in the pipeline, Everest Queen invite you on a journey to the mecca of progressive sludge.
We are honoured, beyond belief, to have been selected to play on the Jagermeister stage at Bloodstock this year. As a band, our aim has always been to take our favourite elements of metal and fuse them to truly express ourselves; with an emphasis on a solid, catchy riff. On learning about the Metal 2 the Masses competition, we saw it as an opportunity to push ourselves both musically and on a peformance level. To get the final was overwhelming (and exciting) for us, but to be offered a slot on the Jagermeister stage...it is beyond our wildest dreams. We have only been playing for just over a year, yet we feel ready to grab Bloodstock by the horns, play from the heart and have fun in the process.
