Band Line Up 2021

Lowen is an unsigned Middle Eastern progressive doom band from London. They formed in 2017 when Shem Lucas and Nina Saeidi met at an Akercocke concert. 

The band explores the displaced identity of vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Nina Saeidi as a second generation refugee born in permanent exile from Iran. Science-fiction and the epic backdrop of space meet the ancient world to form a stage for the exploration of the pain and longing of the disaporically dispossessed in her mournful wails and use of traditional Tahrir vocals unique to Iran. 

Shem Lucas brings his distinctively enormous riffs to the guitar, adding explosive layers of depth that result in an antediluvian soundscape unique to Lowen. 

We are thrilled to have been asked to play on of the best music festivals in the UK! To be able to share our music with the crowds of Bloodstock will be an incredibly special experience for us. We cannot wait to see the festival explode into life once again and with such a titanic line-up.
