Band Line Up 2021

Trilobite formed in late 2015 in Exeter at the Sorry Head open mic night. Will Pirie (drums) and Doug Needham (bass) had been perusing social media for a suitable guitarist for their funk-rock band That Band and invited Phil Oberheinrich who they decided was adequate on guitar and bearable on vocals. Trilobite was formed in order to accommodate the prog-metal direction in which the material was developing and a few months later Trilobite’s debut EP “Pathogens”, produced by Jules Maas-Palmer, was released. 

A self-titled self-produced concept album followed in 2017, along with an appearance at the Green Man Festival in Guernsey. In 2018 Trilobite released the single “Solis”, followed by the EP “Hunchdbac” in 2019. Bassist Doug Needham left the band shortly after the latest release to pursue a career in making extremely expensive and presumably good coffee in Thailand. Following a few months in which Will and Phil experimented with increasingly complex and unusable rhythmic ideas, Marc Beaumont was recruited to play bass and pull the other two thirds of the band back a little bit from the edge of what can barely be described as music. Trilobite resumed playing local gigs until early 2020 and have for the past year been working on material for an LP. 

We're looking forward to playing and being out-metalled by pretty much everyone else including the lighting technician.
