Band Line Up 2021

Drawing inspiration from the fuzzed out desert sounds of Kyuss, the godlike riffing of Black Sabbath and the spiteful dirge of Weedeater, Sound of Origin quickly formed a fearsome reputation for their thunderous live shows, and announced their arrival on the UK Underground scene with the release of 2017s Seeds of the Past EP.

 With the addition of new vocalist, Joel Bulsara, in 2018, the band set about finding the true origin of their sound; adding a depth and range to the voice of the band that bled through into the instruments allowing for a much more diverse output, the band now effortlessly blending down tuned thunderous riffing with all the splendour of prog, blues and classic rock. 'Into the Vile', which appeared on the massive Doomed & Stoned in England compilation gave one of the first representations of Sound of Origin's deeper and divergent tones, mixing in grunge sensibilities to a chugging stoner vibe.

 '2020 brought new album The All Seeing Eye' -( recorded and mixed by Chris Fielding of Conan at legendary Foel Studio in Wales, and mastered by James Plotkin (Sunn O))), ISIS, Pelican and Earth) ) and excellent worldwide reviews (landing in several reviewers Yearly Top Album lists) which led to the band signing a 1 album deal with Manchester's APF records. The band also recently recording  a bonus track for the 50th Anniversary 'Killer' tribute Album to the legendary Alice Cooper courtesy of Pale Wizard records which will be released Nov 2021.

As for the future ... Sound of Origin are more focussed than ever, and intent on broadening its sound yet again, looking to record and release 2 separate albums at opposite ends of the Metal spectrum in 2022.

All the members of the band have been huge fans of the festival for years, whether it being weekend ticket buying fans, fully paid up members of the Rock Society or volunteering to work at the festival as support staff. Sound of Origin love Bloodstock, so for us to be playing it has really blown us away. The bill this year is absolutely awash with the best of British and we are honoured to be included on such a stacked line up. Its fantastic we have the opportunity to play and we cant wait to join in with the party.
