They did it again! FEUERSCHWANZ unleashed their highly anticipated new full-length album Fegefeuerin July 2023, and stormed the charts with their second #1ina row. Their previous album Memento Mori (2021) also entered at #1, and now with this new achievement it is safe to say that FEUERSCHWANZ truly belongs among the elite of the German metal bands. 

Formed in 2004, FEUERSCHWANZ have gradually shifted from their roots in comedy medieval folk into a much more serious direction. With the release of Das Elfte Gebot (2020), FEUERSCHWANZ set their sights entirely on metal-soon becoming one of the most relevant German bands in the genre today. On Fegefeuer, FEUERSCHWANZ spice up their medieval inspired folk metal with true heavy metal influences! 

With their new release, FEUERSCHWANZ clearly confirm their outstanding position in the scene. Fegefeuer stays lyrically true to trademark topics, exploring long forgotten legends and heroic battles, and shows off the band’s extraordinary musical skills. Nordic mythology meets epic guitar riffs, while catchy tunes invite you to the ultimate Viking party! 

After a largely sold-out tour in 2023, the new album Fegefeuer will hit the road in2024. And a hot tour it will be–after all, the band is known for wild party nights and blazing shows! Or as Feuerschwanz like to put it: “The old gods demand their tribute in the form of mead and feast! To be able to put up with that, we switch up to full speed and call for the end of the world!
