STATIC-X
Static-X was formed in 1994 by Wayne Static and Ken Jay following the breakup of their previous band, Deep Blue Dream. After initially searching for members in Chicago, they relocated to Los Angeles, where they met Tony Campos from the death metal band Asesino and guitarist Koichi Fukuda, completing the original lineup. The band signed with Warner Brothers Records in 1998.
Their debut album, Wisconsin Death Trip, released on March 23, 1999, included hits like "Push It," "I'm With Stupid," and "Bled For Days." They toured extensively in support of the album, including appearances at Ozzfest. Following this success, the band released several more albums, such as Machine in 2001 and Shadow Zone in 2003, amidst lineup changes and personal challenges.
Static-X continued to evolve musically, with notable releases like Start a War in 2005 and Cannibal in 2007, before Wayne Static tragically passed away in 2014. In 2019, the band reformed with a new lead vocalist, Xer0, and released Project Regeneration Vol. 1 in 2020, followed by Vol. 2 in 2024.
Exciting news for fans: Static-X is set to perform at Bloodstock in August 2025, headlining the Sophie Lancaster stage alongside other heavy hitters
